Orange and Denim

Chambray:J Crew Factory Cardigan: J Crew Factory

Happy early Halloween! I cannot believe that October is already at it's end and we are so close to Christmas. The holidays are my favorite, especially Thanksgiving. This weekend I am searching for a wedding reception venue for our wedding in May (we do have the ceremony venue booked, which I am in love with).  I hope to finally get the planning process underway, and everything finished soon. When people told me how stressful planning a wedding is, I didn't really believe it could be THAT stressful... but there is so much minor detail!

If you saw my post a few weeks ago, I got this orange cardi at JCrew while they were running their fifty percent off sale. I wasn't sure how much I would be able to wear these flats, but I have actually been able to wear them with many outfits, and I love the cute bow on top. It really makes them feminine and dainty.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

For the Love of Target

Blazer: Target Shirt: Target  Shoes:Kohl's
Bracelet:Target  Jeans: Rock Revival

In all honesty, I used to be a huge Target clothing snob when I was younger ... It's embarrassing to admit, but it's very true. I would like to blame this on my mom for always providing me with nice clothing growing up, but she has always taught me the value of money and to be wise and save. Obviously, I am now older and wiser and I love Target! (Don't judge, this is my confession...Like Usher) ;-) Their clothes are really trendy and they have great deals!!
So, last week I set out to find an outfit that I loved at Target. There was SO much to choose from. I gathered everything I liked, and literally sat there on the phone with my mom describing everything I picked out, and finally chose this! This orange button-up is SO comfortable, and really shows well under the jacket. The jacket is also multi-seasonal. It's not too thick, or too thin, which I think makes it a great buy. This can be worn to work, or out on a date night. Another great thing about target is their jewelry section, which resembles designer jewelry at a great price point. I picked out this jewel bracelet and have worn it almost daily.
Here are a few other items I found that I really loved!

I am constantly looking for deals when I shop, so here are a few sites that have new deals daily and are all on-sale!

Wined.

Shirt: Lily Jane Clutch: Lily Jane Boots: Old (Similar)
Jeans: Rock Revival Necklace: Sister Kate's

Yesterday after work, I stopped by Lily Jane which is a boutique connected to Buckhead Coffeehouse
in Columbia. What could be better than having a fresh cup of warm coffee while shopping? This store is cozy and packed full of goodies. Along with clothing, they have jewelry, bags, scarves, and even candles.

I found this wine pleat top and immediately knew it was a perfect top for this season. This could be dressed up with a blazer or even worn under a moto jacket. It is a great piece for layering or wearing by itself. I chose to wear it with straight leg jeans, and brown boots with a chunky-twisted cream necklace.
The mustard color clutch is extremely adorable and goes with every "fall" color. They also have several other colors available.

If you follow me on Instagram (@kaylahargrove) or twitter (@hargrovekay) you probably already know that I have a slight, more like an addiction, to candles. I burn candles constantly at the house. I LOVE holiday scents especially. So ever since my visit to Lily Jane, I have been dying to get one of their REWINED Candles. The concept is reusing an empty wine bottle by making it into a candle. Genius right... one of those, "Why didn't I think of that?", concepts. Not only are they just cool.... but they smell amazing!

Happy weekend!!

Tuxedo Stripe Craze

Shirt: Blue Door Boutique    Pants: The Limited
Scarf: Target  Shoes: Similar

Another fall clothing obsession of mine is the tuxedo stripe pant. If I could have a pair in ever color... I would. To me, they have a sleek-professional look. I got lucky and caught The Limited when they were having a fifty percent off one-item sale and bought these. The bold, red scarf contrasts the leopard print tunic making the outfit really stand out. I haven't been able to wear many necklaces lately due to having a nickel allergy, so I have tried to go accessory free for awhile. Sometimes simplicity is a good thing ;-).

In other news, the Luke Bryan concert was amazing. I didn't take any pictures due to my camera dying, and Iphone photos just don't do justice for Luke's tight pants. I have it all in memory and that's what counts most! Coming up soon is the Dierks Bentley Benefit Ride at Harley Davidson of Columbia on Nov. 3. Even if you don't have tickets for the ride/concert, you can still come to the dealership where it starts. Luke Bryan, Dierks, and Easton Corbin will be there and it is always a great time!
Thanks for stopping by!

Cool Weather

Sweater: Jcrew Factory-out of stock (similar)  Shirt: JCrew Factory
Bracelet: J Crew Factory  Shoes: JCrew Factory
Jeans: Rock Revival (now onsale!)

This has been the first weekend that it really got quite chilly outside, so I actually got to layer up! Sean gave me this outfit for my birthday, all from J Crew Factory minus the jeans, which I am slightly obsessed over.

October is the month of birthdays for my family. We celebrated my brother's, my aunt's, and my twin cousin's birthday yesterday at my grandparents house, and had a fire-pit weenie roast. Family birthdays are always such a joyful time for me, because there's nothing better than spending time with the people I love most.
Rock Revival Jeans-They definitely are my favorite brand of jeans. They maybe pricey, but these are over a year old and still look brand new. I am always very careful with my jeans when washing them, I turn them inside out, and wash them on the delicate cycle (along with most of my shirts). I make sure to never dry them either! This really extends the life of jeans, and other clothing as well, even if it takes a little longer to do laundry, the results, and costs are worth it in the long-run!

Zig-Zag Maxi

Dress: LuLu's Clothing Company  Shoes: Nine West Scarf: old (Similar)

This dress is from LuLu's Clothing Company in Spring Hill... very close to my house ;-). As you may be able to tell, I love maxi's and this one is perfect for fall weather with sleeves, and can also be worn into winter. I find it to also be very figure-flattering, because it gathers at the waist and ties around the back. It is one that is easily accessorized as well, because almost every color will go with this dress!

I visited their store the other day, and they have a big selection of clothes, and also adorable accessories with great price points! Don't forget to go check out their Facebook page, and if you're in the area stop by their store on Main Street! Also, check out their Shop for a Cure event for breast cancer awareness. I know I will be returning soon!

Cleverly Casual

Top: F21 not online (Similar) Pants: Lauren Conrad Belt: Apt. 9
Sunglasses: Tory Burch Necklace: Similar Shoes: wanting these

You may be wondering how I came up with "Cleverly Casual" as the title of this blog post, and well, I would be fibbing if I said I did. Sean took one look at my pictures, and that was the first thing that came out of his mouth. So I decided to use the phrase.

I wore this to work, and I would say it was cleverly casual, because I got away with wearing it on a non-cas(ual) day. (score) Also, my belt is totally reversible, which I think is just grand. The opposing side is leopard (and I got it onsale at Kohl's). I just recently started shopping at Kohl's for certain items. I have pin-pointed their marketing scheme, or so I think, as markup prices, and put them all "onsale", but I myself fall into the attraction of the sale, especially when they are running an additional twenty percent off, and I love the LC brand!

This has been a great transitional outfit for fall. The top has leather patches on the shoulder, but can also be great for layering when it starts to get cooler. I have worn the pants with so many different style shirts, and will definitely get my wear out of them this season.

Weekend deals

J crew sale!!! This past weekend J Crew Factory was running a 50% off sale so my mom, Erica, Gage, and I headed out to Opry Mills. We ate at the Acquarium, which Gage loved. I ended up scoring a great deal on a pair of pink skimmer pants for $9.98 marked down from $60! I also picked up a bright orange cardi and Wool Camel Skimmer pants (for work).
Skimmer Pants: J Crew Factory Cardigan: J Crew Factory Wool Skimmer Pants: J Crew Factory

Cosmetics: On Sunday I ran to Cool Springs mall (story to follow) and stopped by the Mac store. I have never been a lipstick girl, but I wanted to try some for fall, because my lip gloss is constantly coming off, and quite frankly I get tired of reapplying! :-) I asked the consultant what the best colors are for ME, and she showed me these (which happen to be their most popular shades lol). I also picked up the new eye palette set from Rihanna's collection to tone down my eyes with the bold lipsticks. Normally, I wear the Starry-eyed palette from Lorac.

Lipstick: Mac Rebel  Lipstick: Mac Viva Glam I Eye Palette: Mac Her Cocoa

Jeans: The main reason I went to Cool Springs mall... Friday night Sean and I went on a double date with one of my best friends from elementary school and her husband to Bonefish Grill. I do not eat any type of seafood (but love their Lilly's chicken) so everytime we go Sean tries to get me to eat muscles, shrimp, something of that nature. So he ordered muscles and  dared me to eat one for a pair of Buckle jeans of my choice... Do you think I would pass this up? No way! So I took some bread, sandwiched the muscle, and took a big gulp of water with the mini-muscle sandwich, and that was that! So I took my happy tail to the mall Sunday and picked out these jeans! Rock Revival is one of my fav brands of jeans. He will learn not to dare me to eat something for clothing, because I will do it! (I hope he overlooks this fine print!!) :-)

Wedding Bells Ringing

This past weekend my brother and sister-in-law had a gorgeous wedding in our hometown. All week long the forecast called for rain, but thank heavens it was a beautiful day and the storm held off until the next day.

The wedding was so pretty and I can I only hope that my wedding turns out just as stunning as theirs did! I am so happy for them and my nephew Gage who is an absolute adorable like chunk!

Brandon and Erica have a beautiful little family. I couldn't be more proud! So congrats to the newly wedded couple!

Product Review: The Wet Brush

Meet The Wet Brush.
Believe me when I say my hair is EXTREMELY tangley when I have wet hair. I have tried combs, paddle brushes, round brushes, vent brushes, you name it... I have probably tried the brush.
So my moms hairstylist at Luminous Hair Studio introduced her to this product and my mom loved it so much she got me one.

This brush is amazing. The bristles are flexible and it does not rip through tangles nor do you have to "baby" your tresses. I am a fanatic about being easy on my hair (minus back combing). Here are a few more products I use daily.
Argan Oil: Protects hair from heat and also smells yummy! It does not make your hair greasy either. I've been using this several years now.

Hot Sets: This works great for curling hair. My hairdresser just introduced me to this.

Kendra volume and finishing spray: This holds curl but still leaves body so your hair isn't so stiff it doesn't move.

Raspberries and two tone

I love bright colors and I must say I have never had a raspberry colored shirt. This shirt is so pretty and versatile (always good!).
This fall I have really drifted towards wearing the button down, tunic style shirts. Not only are they super comfortable, but they also have a business professional look to them which means I can wear them to work! (Another plus).
I have been on the hunt for most things I buy to be work appropriate so I can wear them to work too, but also still be cute. This is not always easy as I work in the medical mgmt field. To me the regular black pants and cardi gets old quickly.
Now for the pants, I can also wear these to work! They are cream faux leather front with black on the backside.

In other news: the Luke Bryan concert is coming up Oct 18, which Sean scored amazing seats to and I cannot wait!!! There WILL be pics to come for that!
