Christmas Cheer

We decorated a little early this year for Christmas, and I wanted to show you some of my fav things!
This centerpiece my mom made for me. It is gorgeous. She is so talented and I wish I could make florals as pretty as she does. The runner we found at Moss' Garden Center in Mt Juliet. They have amazing decor there. The glass figurines are Fitz and Floyd collectibles that were given to me when I was younger. I have a thing for Lenox/Fitz and Floyd/ and Waterford at Christmas time. Their pieces are always so beautiful.
This is my favorite Waterford ornament displayed separately from the tree :-).
Another favorite Lenox piece: Drummer Boy
Here's our tree. Yep I have already started wrapping presents. I still cannot grasp that Christmas is less than a month away.
Oh, and meet Lilly. She's always into EVERYTHING. Hope you all are had a great Thankgiving holiday! I spent it with Sean's family in NC and we had a great, relaxing time and enjoyed the snow!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Checkered Cape

Gloves: Coach   Jeggings: MEK

Winter weather is finally appearing, and man is it cold! I've been fortunate to have the past week and this week off before I start my new job, so I have spent most of it with my mom during the day. Today we went out to see the progress of her and my step-dads new house that is being built in Nashville. It is a gorgeous house I can't wait to see it finished! It started snowing today, which is a rarity here in TN, and I love it! After we got back from Nashville, we watched 'The Holiday' starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. I highly recommend this chick flick.
I had several compliments on my cape and it kept me warm! It is very fashionable for a great price! The red gloves added a nice pop of color to the outfit and also kept my hands toasty.
Hope you're enjoying the snow as much as I am! Xo-Kayla

Product Review: Bed Head Resurrection

This stuff is good... I mean really good. I am one who doesn't mind paying extra for good hair care products. I have to wash my hair daily due to having oily skin, but this causes my ends to dry out so it's important I have a good shampoo and conditioner. Lately, I have been through many trial and errors in this product area and I finally found one that works wonders. My hair feels so soft after using this shampoo/conditioner.
After I shower, I brush my hair out with my Wet Brush (as featured in previous blog) and use Bed Head After Party. It makes my hair feel silky smooth without being weighed down or oily.
Remember, the winter weather is harsh on our locks so even though salon products are more costly than store products, they last a long time and are well worth the results you see! :-)

Vintage Floral

Sweater: Target Leggings: Not online (similar, similar)
Boots: Sam & Libby (onsale!!!)

So here is a little preview of our wedding venue. In six months this is where Sean and I will be married. Pictures just really do not do justice on how beautiful the Wightman Chapel at Vanderbilt really is. We have looked at SO many different venues over the past year, and this one finally fell in place, and it was definitely worth the wait. We also just booked our reception venue as well, The Marriott at Vanderbilt. Most of our guests will be out-of-town travelers so we wanted to find venues that were convenient for everyone, and I couldn't be more pleased. Now we can focus on the "fun" parts of the planning!

Outfit: This outfit is perfect for a day of running errands. It is so comfortable, and even in the chilly weather I stayed really warm. The sweater I came across at Target and it has a vintage floral pattern.
The leggings are really thick and I found them on clearance! As for the boots, well you will see me wearing these in several posts! Love my Sam and Libby!

Red: Christmas Gift Ideas!!

Jewelry Box & Serving Tray: Target

My mom and I went to Target a few days ago, and I came across the home decor section and spotted these beauties. I contemplated on whether I really wanted them or not, and kept going back to them... So I knew I had to get them. If you know me, you know that I constantly clean. I despise clutter. So jewelry can tend to clutter up around the nightstand and dressers so I knew this jewelry box was a must-have. I joked with Sean that I also got the matching tray to serve him breakfast-in-bed. (Usually he is always the one cooking us breakfast! Lol). Target also has these in a variety of colors. They are a very reasonable price, and also add a nice pop of color in the room! This would also make a great Christmas gift as well!

Rainy Days

Skirt: Elysian Boutique Shirt: old (similar)
Necklace: Apricot Lane Umbrella: Coach(old) similar

So Sunday was a rainy messy day, BUT it turned out to be a great day regardless. I decided to go with this fun pencil skirt, and threw my hair up in a bun to avoid a frizzy "do". This skirt is very comfortable, and a good length, and is a good staple for the holiday season that is very near. The best part is the umbrella. I've had it several years, but who says umbrellas have to be boring? It adds to the ensemble!

Fur and Lace.

Boots: Sam and Libby (onsale!!) Jeans: Rock Revival

Ok, so I must say, this is probably one of my favorite outfits this season. I know I have a lot of "favorites", but this is by far the one. This fur vest is amazing. The front is fur, and the back is lace. I have yet to see one similar to this and it goes with SO many things. I dropped by Sister Kate's the other day (surprise surprise ha) and they have this vest, and a lighter color of the same vest. These are my other Sam and Libby boots that I scored at Target, and have been wearing them like crazy. It was really windy today, hence my hair flying everywhere in the pics. The tassel necklace I scored from groopdealz.com for a great price.
So tomorrow, Sean FINALLY has a day off. It will be his first day off since June (7 days straight for months) so we are both very happy for a whole day together. What we will do, I am not sure? But I am so happy! Maybe some Christmas Shopping for him! Speaking of Christmas, I cannot believe it is almost here! Have you all started your shopping yet?
