Makeup Favorites

I've had several people ask me lately what kind of makeup I wear so I would like to share a few of my favorite makeup products that I use daily.

When putting my makeup on, the first thing I do is prime.
I am a fan of BareMinerals as you will see and their eye primer works wonders. My eyeshadow will stay on all day and still looks fresh at night when I remove my makeup. Find this here.

Next, I started using BareMinerals pressed powder recently and prefer it over the loose powder (which I used for 6+ years). Both are great products but the pressed powder gives a more finished look than the loose powder (and is not as messy) Find here.

Blush:
I use BareMinerals warmth to contour my cheeks (it only takes a tiny bit... This powder goes a long way and I've been using the same tub for 2+ years)
I recently bought NP Set in Baked powder and use this as my everyday blush
Find Warmth here.
NP Set here.

This has to be my favorite eyeshadow- BareMinerals Drama.
Find here.

One product I think is unnecessary to splurge on is eyeliner. I use Loreal Infallible in black/brown and it stays on all day and doesn't run. Great product!
Find here.

If you're looking for a good mascara, They're Real is a must have! It's a little more expensive but well worth the extra money.
Find here.

And finally at the end of the night when I  remove my makeup, I moisturize! This is so important to keep skin healthy and also good to be preventative! I read reviews on this product-No 7 Protect and Perfect- and it really is great! I have mildly oily skin and most night creams I have tried made my skin even more oily but this product did not. It is very light and also smells so fresh and so clean ;-) I can definitely tell a difference in just a week!

Personalize It....

Being engaged and wedding planning has really kicked my Pinterest usage in gear and when searching "wedding decor" I have found monogramming/personalizing everywhere! Not only is it fun for the soon-to-be married, but it makes great gifts for family and friends as well.

So therefore, I will share some of my projects and purchases with you :-)
First... Homemade Scrabble coasters! Love them! and you can arrange them how you desire and make custom phrases etc! Find out how to make them here.
I used scrapbook paper on the spare pieces to make my words stand out more and used Mod Podge on top and it turned out perfectly :)

I found this creation on Pinterest. It is super easy. I went to hobby lobby and bought a frame, fabric, and the initial "D" (for Deckert). I painted the letter and then applied to the fabric with glue. I stretched the fabric over a piece of cardboard that fits into the frame. I might go back and paint the frame red to add some contrast. This is still a work in progress.

Custom Hanger! I love this! I ordered this from etsy. Not only is it great for a bride's wedding dress, but it also makes a good bridesmaid gift for their dress too!

Thirty-One Tote-This was gifted to me from my Grandmother and I love this tote! It is so versatile and the perfect size and not to mention...chevron!! You can purchase this here

And last but not least, we all need a personalized cup! I saw this on http://www.thesweetestthingblog.com/ and just had to have one! These will be my future initials KAD :-)You can find this here.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Prints, Plaids, Peplum, and Pencils!

I  do quite a bit of online "clothing research" ;-) before shopping and keep an eye out for what's to come the next season.... And this fall there are many prints! Stripes, florals, polka-dots, plaid and mix them together in one outfit and that is what's in-style.  Some styles can seem overwhelming but somehow it just works!
Starting with plaids :-)

Plaid is back in this fall and it is being spruced up a bit... I'm loving the second plaid shirt with leather pockets and leather elbow patches! (I just purchased this one and LOVE it)
Ways to wear: plaid is very versatile
Wear it with jeans and boots for a casual feel or wear it tucked with a pencil skirt to work!

Peplum:

Peplum skirts and peplum shirts! This style is very figure flattering. Notice the leather trend on the peplum skirt. This could be dressed up or paired with the plaid shirt above :-)

Polka-dots! I'm adding an extra "P" in here

Say hello to the dots! They are everywhere and oh so cute!

Prints and Pencils:

Printed pants are the craze and let me tell you, they are so fun! I have the
second pair shown. I like to buy things I can wear to work/ and wear on the weekends as well that aren't "boring" because work clothes don't have to be drab! I am also in love with pencil skirts... Wear a plain old tee tucked in or pair your pencil with a cute button down!

Here are a few accessories that I love

Don't be afraid to mix up your wardrobe and give the multi-prints a chance :-)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Vacay

My family and I just got back from a wonderful trip to the beach in Destin. I always love vacations and spending time with my family. Who doesn't? :-)

I was told to pack light before we left but that's just not possible! This girl needs many options ok?!

This was my nephew Gage's first adventure to the beach so we were all really anxious and excited to see what he would think of the sand/water... And he loved both!

My mom celebrated her "25th" birthday as well while we were down there so we went out to eat at the Marlin Grill in Baytowne Wharf. Sean couldn't make the trip down but he had asked me where we were eating dinner that night and he had a bottle of champagne sent to our table to toast for my mom's birthday. He is always so thoughtful. He scored major points with my family that night :-)
